The article deals with the problem of humanitarizing mathematical education of technical students as a factor of improving professional training quality. The author proves the necessity of re-structuring the program of teaching Mathematics to first-year students, developing the notion of number on wich the school course of Mathematics is based, from natural numbers to complex numbers.
